Windows to Our Past, Volume Two
| The Lancaster County (PA) Postcard Club's 2002 publication, Windows to Our Past, Volume Two, is now on sale. This hardbound postcard view book features long-forgotten and unique postcards showing people and places of both Lancaster city and county with a special section containing scenes from the Lincoln Highway of yesteryear. | ![]() |
| The process of producing this second volume began in the spring of 2001. Club members were asked to examine their cards and choose the ones they felt would be of most interest to the public. A screening committee made the final selection. After cards were selected, narratives about each card were completed and edited by several people. Jack Brubaker, local newspaper writer and local historian, wrote the Preface. Jim Ward, the editor and compiler of Volume Two and long-time club member, composed the Introduction. | ![]() |
| At the beginning of the publication, readers can find a brief history of postcards, information about the Lancaster County (PA) Postcard Club, the contributors, and detailed maps of the region.
The following chapters divide the book: North West, North Central, North East, South West, South East, and Lincoln Highway. Additional chapters include the 109 color plates and are also divided into geographic sections. | ![]() |

Each postcard has an accompanying paragraph revealing little known facts of local interest for local history buffs.
