A new exhibition of photographs and postcards will mark the 20th Anniversary of the Braintree District Museum.
Capturing the History Of Braintree, a collection by local photography enthusiast Alf Whybrow, who died in 2010 aged 88, has gone on display for the first time at the museum in Manor Street.
The collection of photographs and postcards depicting local landmarks and public occasions dates to the 1880s and many of the images are rare and previously unseen.
The exhibition, which will run until March 29, was made possible by the Friends of Braintree Museum, who purchased the collection.
It is one of many events including craft workshops, being held to celebrate the museum’s 20th Anniversary on October 26.
More information about upcoming events is available at: braintreemuseum.co.uk Opening times: 10am to 4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays. Adults £3, concessions £1.50, children free.
