c1925 SWITZERLAND Alps Snapshot Real Photograph - Alpine Mountain Valley Swiss Chalet Cottage Farm – Velox Photo Paper
Stunning c1925 real photograph snapshot summertime view of an alpine mountain valley in the Swiss Alps – most likely somewhere in the vicinity of Interlaken - with a Swiss chalet cottage and farm in the foreground, and the high mountains showing through the mist in the background. Matte finished sepia-toned chloride paper print on 5-3/4” x 3-3/4” Velox brand photo paper.
The photo is exceptionally sharp, and interesting details about the valley and the chalet, including the neatly kept vegetable garden on the right, are clearly visible. “Blinn lis Alps” (view of the Alps) is hand-written in pencil on the back.
The c1925 date and likely Interlaken locale is based on information taken from postcards from a German family member on holiday in Interlaken in the summer of 1925, found in the album together with this photo.
PHOTO NOTE: Quality matte finish white border real photo. Scanning frequently distorts the clarity of the image and the intensity of color. When viewed in person, the photo image usually has greater clarity and color intensity, compared to the more muted "grainy" look of the scan. Minute defects are also exaggerated by the scans, and often barely noticeable when viewed in person.
CONDITION: PLEASE EXAMINE THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY. In excellent condition for its age, but not perfect. Brown sepia-tone is natural to the chloride printing process. Card has no major image folds or creases, and the central image is very clean. There is an upper left corner crease, and one small repaired tear on the right edge; all four corners are blunted and creased. Borders may be slightly damaged in spots, and show some age discoloration on the edges. Back has generalized tan age discoloration. Penciled writing in German is slightly faded. ALL FLAWS ARE OBVIOUS IN THE PHOTOS.
