From idyllic beaches and crashing waterfalls, to flowing rivers and lofty hilltops — Scotland may have never looked more sublime than during the reign of Queen Victoria.
Portobello Pier, in Edinburgh, was a pleasure pier that opened in 1871. Visitors and holidaymakers were able to enjoy the tearoom and concert hall but it was damaged by storms and the impressive construction was demolished in 1917
