We are a small friendly stamp and postcard club that meets in the afternoons during a season in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland.
We have a loyal group of members with a different level of knowledge
between them all, which all goes well for new members who wish to learn.
Come along have a chat and coffee see what you think, everyone welcome.
Established in November 1990, the South Wales Postcard Club has established itself as the postcard presence in South Wales. It meets on the second Thursday of each month (except for August) in Cardiff, usually at Ararat Baptist Church Hall, (Whitchurch Common, Merthyr Rd, Cardiff, CF14 1PT).
A programme of events is organised by the club committee, running from September each year. Primarily the talks are on or around the subject of postcards, but as postcard collectors will know this allows an enormous breadth of scope. Subjects may vary between particular illustrators, history local and international, local authors, and social history.
We always welcome new members to the club, where the annual subscription is £8 per annum. New members are made very welcome, and help to enlarge the wide range of interests and collecting habits, already covered by our members. Although we are a postcard club, we are all collectors and usually have more than one string to our bow!!
The Club was formed in September 1999, and in recent years have around 200 members. Members are drawn from Plymouth and West Devon, all parts of Cornwall from Penzance to Launceston, and much further afield! Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month (except August) at 7:00pm at the Scout Centre, Manadon, Plymouth, PL3 5TB. Meetings feature guest speakers covering a wide range of topics, and regular displays of members’ collections.
Founded November 1977. The club holds monthly meetings on the 3rd Monday of each month (unless the Monday falls into Holy Week, when it is either the 3rd Tuesday or 4th Monday). The meetings are held at St Paul's Hall, Boxley Road, Maidstone, and start at 7pm till 10pm. Our meetings usually consist of chat and browsing dealer's stock until 8pm, when the main business of the evening commences. The minutes of the previous meeting are read, and new announcements made. Our presenter for the evening then takes the floor until about 9:15pm, and then more chat and buying until the end of the evening. Refreshments are served during the evening.
