JOHN HINDE was a pioneer of colour photography and used revolutionary techniques to produce his perfect images of holiday scenes. They were the pictures of idyllic sunlit scenes sent from millions of holidays in dark and damp seaside resorts. The vivid colours of postcards from the 1960s and 1970s had a look all of their own – the skies were never bluer, the sun never brighter.
